GRC’s five divisions have delivered dozens of impactful projects and forged strong, strategic partnerships in the pursuit of justice and accountability across some of the world’s most complex and high-risk environments.
From Ukraine, Syria, and Yemen to Iraq, Pakistan, Latin America, and beyond, GRC has collaborated with prosecutors, civil society organisations, the private sector, national authorities, and international institutions to advance justice, strengthen accountability mechanisms, and foster meaningful, lasting change on the ground.
In Ukraine, Mobile Justice Teams (MJTs) provided sustained legal and investigative support to national authorities, assisting in the processing of large-scale violations of international law amid Russia’s full-scale invasion. Activities included evidence analysis, legal advisory services, and institutional capacity building. In 2024, GRC supported Ukraine’s justice sector through more than 50 field missions across nine regions, working alongside domestic authorities to help build complex cases involving international crimes. MJTs also contributed to over 20 successful Notices of Suspicion for war crimes, including cases implicating senior Russian commanders.
The Starvation and Humanitarian Crisis Division continued its work investigating the use of starvation as a method of warfare by Russian forces, while also responding to broader humanitarian crises around the world. The division’s efforts focused on promoting accountability and advocacy in politically sensitive and high-risk environments.
The Gender and Child Justice Division advanced inclusive, survivor-centred approaches to addressing serious international crimes, with particular emphasis on conflict-related sexual violence and crimes against children. The division worked to embed trauma-informed practices in accountability mechanisms and support capacity-building among justice actors.
Through the Business and Human Rights Division, GRC provided targeted support to civil society, businesses, and governments aimed at strengthening legal frameworks, enhancing corporate accountability, and promoting the protection of human rights across global business operations.
The Accountability and Rule of Law Division concentrated on delivering practical legal support to reinforce national justice systems. Activities included technical assistance, legislative analysis, and stakeholder engagement to support legal reforms and institutional resilience.
Wayne Jordash KC, President of GRC, reflects:
“Throughout 2024, our commitment to defending human rights and upholding the principles of justice has been unwavering. Our mission and vision guided us to be strategic accountability innovators, empowering domestic actors with international legal standards, by working tirelessly to provide legal support, advocacy, and practical solutions in some of the world’s most conflict-affected and high-risk regions. In the report, you can read in detail about each of the divisions, projects implemented, the organisation’s mission and vision, as well as key achievements of our team over the past year.”
