Promoting and Advancing International Labor Rights in Pakistan: Mid-Term Evaluation Report

GRC’s Business and Human Rights Division (BHR) is implementing the Promoting and Advancing International Labor Rights in Pakistan project to support garment workers by enhancing their access to legal aid, awareness, and advocacy. This initiative aims to empower workers, particularly women, by providing safe spaces to learn about their rights, address grievances, and receive legal assistance.

We have already achieved significant results. The establishment of legal aid centres, women’s cafés, and a network of trained paralegals has created essential support structures for workers. These efforts have facilitated trust-building, improved worker relations with local Labor Departments, and enabled effective advocacy based on verified data.

A key innovation is the MyVox app, which systematically collects and analyzes labour rights violations in Pakistan’s garment sector. Unlike traditional top-down monitoring mechanisms, MyVox empowers workers to independently report violations across multiple locations. This tool provides a comprehensive view of industry challenges, reinforcing the effectiveness of grassroots-driven advocacy and strengthening efforts to protect labour rights.
