Lina Baddour, GRC’s Accountability and Rule of Law, Project & Atrocity Crimes Lead, is a licensed attorney specialising in international criminal law, international humanitarian law, human rights, and transitional justice.
For nearly 20 years, Lina has worked to enhance justice processes and accountability frameworks in the context of some of the world’s most intricate legal and political environments, including Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, Palestine, Ukraine, and Yemen, among others. She has held strategic advisory positions across government, NGOs and the United Nations, and has worked and advised on complex international criminal investigations and litigations, including major war crimes cases. Her work has been rooted across diverse cultural and linguistic landscapes, as well as both conflict and post-conflict situations. This diverse experience has provided her with a uniquely comprehensive perspective on legal and policy challenges, from addressing immediate conflict-related injustices to supporting long-term rule of law reforms.
