Global Rights Compliance (GRC) is pleased to co-organise a side event during the 19th Session of the Conference of States Parties to the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (COSP19).
As part of the discussion, Ruby Mae Axelson, Head of GRC’s Gender, Child and Inclusive Justice Hub, will speak about efforts in Ukraine to advance disability-inclusive justice through the investigative process.
The side event will focus on:
- War crimes committed against persons with disabilities;
- Systemic violence faced by persons with disabilities in Ukraine;
- Gender-based violence, including sexual violence, exploitation, and abuse, faced by women and girls with disabilities;
- How international humanitarian law can better mainstream the rights of persons with different types of disabilities in humanitarian and armed conflict contexts;
- The mechanisms needed to ensure disability-inclusive justice.
