Samir Goswami

Samir Goswami has 20+ years of experience advancing human rights, labour rights, and social and economic justice across government, nonprofit, and corporate sectors. He currently directs forced labour programs at Global Rights Compliance, focusing on critical mineral supply chains and Uyghur forced labour. Previously, as an appointee for the Biden-Harris Administration, he served as a Deputy Assistant Administrator at USAID on an executive team.  He instituted supply chain reforms for the Agency’s $150M ICT supply chain and utilised AI and machine learning to uncover and mitigate suppliers’ connections to forced labour in XUAR. He oversaw compliance and strengthened accountability systems and expanded the Bureau’s contracting opportunities for small and disadvantaged businesses. He also served as COO of the Partnership on AI, forging collaborations between tech companies, labour unions, and civil society to advance responsible technology. He has directed multi-million-dollar global programs and managed and mentored teams across the globe.
