GRC продовжує надавати підтримку українським прокурорам та слідчим у регіонах
Мобільна команда правосуддя (МКП) GRC відвідала Суми, щоб обговорити перебіг розслідування воєнних злочинів у регіоні.
Представники МКП на чолі з Вейном Джордашем зустрілися з представниками прокуратури, поліції та СБУ у Сумській області. Під час зустрічі обговорили перебіг розслідування воєнних злочинів, вчинених представниками російських збройних сил під час повномасштабного вторгнення, зокрема, під час окупації частини Сумщини.
“Сумська область – одна з тих, які постраждали під час повномасштабного вторгнення. Тисячі проваджень зареєстровані і це надзвичайно складне завдання – з одного боку, розслідувати якомога більше злочинів, з іншого – будувати справи, які ведуть до командування, щоб притягнути до відповідальності вище військово-політичне керівництво Росії. Тому дуже важливо пріоритезувати справи і обʼєднувати зусилля. », – зазначив Президент міжнародної фундації GRC та заступник керівника ACA Group Вейн Джордаш.
Крім того, під час зустрічі учасники спільно визначили подальші кроки та пріоритети в розслідуванні воєнних злочинів.
МКП GRC в рамках Консультативної групи з питань найтяжчих міжнародних злочинів (ACA) допомагають українським правоохоронним органам розслідувати міжнародні злочини, скоєні під час російської війни проти України. МКП складаються з іноземних та українських фахівців, вони працюють як у Києві, так і в областях, надаючи підтримку як Офісу Генерального прокурора, так і регіональним прокуратурам.

The GRC Mobile Justice Team (MJT) visited Sumy to discuss the progress of war crimes investigations in the region.
Wayne Jordash, President of GRC International Foundation, along with the heads of the MJT of the Northern Region and the MJTs Senior Prosecutor, met with heads of the Prosecutor’s Office, Police Department and Security Services of the Sumy Region. During the meeting, they discussed the progress in the investigation and prosecution of war crimes allegedly committed by Russian armed forces during the full-scale invasion, of Ukraine, in particular, during the occupation of part of Sumy region.
“Sumy region is one of the regions that suffered from Russian aggression. Thousands of proceedings have been registered, and it is an extremely difficult task – on the one hand, to investigate a large number of crimes, and on the other hand, to build cases that lead to the commanders to bring the military and political leadership of Russia to justice. Therefore, it is very important to prioritise cases and engage efforts.” said Wayne Jordash, President of GRC and Deputy Lead Coordinator of ACA.
In addition, during the meeting, the participants identified further steps and priorities in the investigation and prosecution of war crimes.
The GRC’s MJTs, as a part of the framework of Atrocity Crimes Advisory Group (ACA Group), assist Ukrainian law enforcement agencies in investigating and prosecuting international and war crimes committed during the Russian war against Ukraine. MJTs are composed of foreign and Ukrainian specialists who assist the Office of the Prosecutor General and regional prosecutor’s offices both in Kyiv and in the regions.
